Sake, a traditional alcoholic beverage in Japan, is made from fermented rice, koji (often translated as rice malt or yeast made from rice) and water. This sweet flavor drink served as hot or cold.

History of Sake goes as far back as 7th century, and over time, breweries all across Japan -developed its own productions and techniques based on locally available resources. We are pleased to offer a tour to Sawanoi Brewery in Tokyo, to learn about the brewing processes, take a tour of the Sake warehouse and enjoy sake tasting!!

Your Chauffeur will pick you up at your hotel or anywhere within Tokyo's 23 wards.

  1. Visit Mt.Takao. (about 90min)
  2. Vegetarian Lunch (Shojin-Ryori) at Yakuou-in. (about 60min)
  3. Climb down Mt.Takao by cable car. (about 40min)
  4. Visit Sawanoi brewery and sake testing. (about 90min)

Your Chauffeur will drop off at your hotel or anywhere within Tokyo's 23 wards.

*Important Reminder:

-Sawanoi brewery will be closed on Monday (following Tuesday if a Monday is a national holiday) and end of the year-New Year's extended holiday.
-Please allow additional travel time during a peak holiday season and the foliage season as major traffic delay is expected.

Highlights of This Tour

  • Mt. Takao

    Mt. Takao is one of the closest natural recreation areas to central Tokyo, offering beautiful scenery, an interesting temple and attractive hiking opportunities.

  • Yakuo-in Temple

    Located near the summit of Mt. Takao-san, Yakuo-in Temple was established in 744 on the orders of Emperor Shomu as a base for Buddhism in eastern Japan and its founder was Gyoki.

  • Vegetarian Lunch: Shojin Ryori

    Shojin Ryori is a Japanese vegetarian cuisine commonly practiced by Buddhist monks in Japan. It was popularize in the 13 th Century.

  • Takao-san cable car

    Takao-san cable car railway started its operations in 1927. This is actually the steepest railway line in all of Japan with a 31 degree tilt, so hold on tight on your way up!

  • Sawanoi Brewery

    Sawanoi Brewery has been brewing sake more than 300 years, and they brew many varieties of smooth, dry, and refreshing taste of sake that are suitable for those who drink sake for the first time.

  • Sake Tasting

    Sake tasting spot that offers up to 10 varieties for 200 yen to 500 yen per cup. Visitors can keep the sake cups as souvenirs.

Less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up time (local time): 50% of Total Price
Less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up time (local time): 100% of Total Price
